Yep, I actually paid theatre prices for these two movies. Saw The Medallion on Wednesday and Freaky Friday yesterday.
The Medallion is just another marginal Jackie Chan movie. The story had potential but fell short due to some dumbass directing decisions, IMO, which left me with the feeling that they couldn't decide whether they wanted it to be funny or serious. The result was a handful of stupid, unnecessary moments that would have been best left on the cutting room floor.
Freaky Friday was actually quite a bit better than I expected. Although, I did have pretty low expectations to begin with. It's just one of those cute, feel-good family kind of movies. Not memorable in the least, but not bad either. I wouldn't consider it as a future DVD purchase, but it is a movie I'd watch again some Sunday afternoon on HBO.
