Anthony, I too picked this up. So far I can say I am pretty impressed. What I really like about it is that you never get bored! Just when you are getting sick of a chapter it ends and you start a new chapter in a different era with a new character, brilliant! So far this is the best GameCube game by far, kicks the snot out of the overrated stiff experience of Resident Evil, I love the controls! I am only about 4 chapters in, I heard it starts getting really good around the 7th or 8th chapter, can't wait!

John, don't you think that the insanity effects are awesome? You're right the controls are some of the best i have ever seen, the voice acting is top notch ans the camera never fails.

The praise I've been hearing for this game piqued my curiousity. I'll probably have to rent it when I finally buy a Gamecube around the time Zelda and Mario Sunshine are out.

The insanity effects are way cool! I read some spoilers on them and can't wait to experience some of the 'over-the-top' effects.
When Mario Sunshine and Zelda come out I will be officially locked in my house for some time. I am more pyshced for Mario, can't wait!! Aug. 26th (FYI) |

I bought this game used today from EB, and so far so good. I'm a little frustrated by the camera control, though. I'd like to swing around and look at other things. Is there a way to do this that I'm missing?
No major insanity effects so far, but I'm looking forward to them. Just a little screen-tilting. I love that this game has a 16x9 widescreen option - I wish all games did this! One thing I can't help but notice is that this game is very Call of Cthulhu-ish. The insanity concept is pulled straight from the pen-and-paper CoC game (although it looks to be better implemented than I would have expected), and the ancients biding their time waiting to be reborn is straight from the Cthulhu mythos. I like H.P. Lovecraft, though, so this is a good thing in my mind. |
