I need something with a built in converter that can playback encoded discs from any region but one that won't strecth Pal 16:9 widescreen when playing on NTSC formatted TV's.

I dont know where to find one and I dont want to get ripped off since Im not sure what constitues as a quality player or what the prices generally range in regards to these all-region systems.

After playing a few discs I noticed thte picture freezing for a short period ie .5 second on most discs. After a while this got worse so I cointacted the shop who told me "it was the puase of the laser going throught the layers" hmm I never had this on the same discs on my old cheap DVD player.

I have two DVD players....one is a Sony player (the top-of-the-line when I first bought it for about $1000.00....I forget the number....something like S3000?)....and another one which I purchased about three years ago for about $150.00.

I've probably watched thousands of hours of DVDs on the first player....and about 10 or less hours on the cheaper model.

I'm thinking about getting a home theater. The only concern I have though is the rear speakers and getting the cables from one side of the room to the other. Obviously I'm going to have to extend them. How do I go about doing that? I've looked online for some guides but I'm not having any luck.

The speakers I'm looking at getting simply have the two wires sticking out.

It's not widescreen, but it is a 25 inch screen, as opposed to the 15 inch screen I had before :)
